Goal 5

Repent. Read Istighfar. Ask Allah swt for His forgiveness, for your past, present and any future sins. i.e. Say ‘Astaghfirullah’ x100.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Prophet said: Allah the Almighty said: “I am as My servant expects Me to be. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me a hand’s span, I draw near to him an arm’s length; and if he draws near to me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.”

(Hadith Qudsi, Al-Bukhari)

And when (O Messenger) My servants ask you about Me, then surely I am near: I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he prays to Me. So let them respond to My call (without hesitation), and believe and trust in Me (in the way required of them), so that they may be guided to spiritual and intellectual excellence and right conduct.

Quran-(Al-Baqarah:186)

Allah (swt) says: “Take one step towards me, I will take ten steps towards you. Walk towards me, I will run towards you.”

Hadith Qudsi

It is better to count the phrases of Dhikr on one’s fingers rather than on counting beads (Tasbeeh, prayer beads etc) because the fingers will be questioned and will speak on your behalf on the Day of Judgment.Our hands will speak for or against us on Yawmuddin, as a witness to the actions we did with them.

Allah (SWT) has commanded us to remember Him always. Allah says: “Remember me, I shall remember you.”

Qur’an (2:152)

When a man complained, “The laws of Islam are too heavy for me, so tell me something that I can easily follow,” the Prophet told him, “Let your tongue be always busy with the remembrance of Allah.”

Hadith-[Narrated by Ahmad with two sound chains, also Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah through other chains, and Ibn Hibban who declared it sahih].

The Prophet, peace be upon him, would often tell his Companions, “Shall I tell you about the best of deeds, the most pure in the sight of your Lord, about the one that is of the highest order and is far better for you than spending gold and silver, even better for you than meeting your enemies in the battlefield where you strike at their necks and they at yours?” The Companions replied, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “Remembrance of Allah.”

Goal 4

Read 33 times each: Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah and 34 times: Allahu Akbar.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As(r) narrated that Rasullah(S) has said, “There are two things that if a Muslim does with regularity, he will enter Paradise. Both of them are very easy to do, but those who doe it are few. After every (fard) prayers recite 10 times Subhanallah, ALhumdulila, Allahu Akbar. When the five times count is made these add up to be 150. The reward on the Day of Resurrection (at ten times) will be 1,500. When a person prepares to sleep, he may recite 33 times Subhanallah, 33 times Alhumdulia, and Allahu Akbar 34 times. Although their sum is 100 they will fetch a reward of 1,000. Together the two will get a reward of 2,5000. Thus who puts these into practice, his practice will exceed his sins.” The Companions (R) said, “We will not find it difficult to adopt.” Rasulallah(S) said, “The devil will approach you while you pray and remind you of different things. When you finish the prayers you will have forgotten your intended practice. The same thing will happen at night. He will see that you go to sleep.” (Tirmizi) [Translator’s note: Each of three phrases repeated ten times makes thirty; multiplied by the number of daily prayers, which is five, makes one hundred and fifty. Each of these good deeds of the tongue will be rewarded with ten hasanaat which will be added to the total of good deeds to be weighed in the balance or scales on the Day of Judgement]. Goal 3

Say once, “La Hawla wa la Quwatta illa Billah”.

Allah’s Messenger pbuh said, “O Abdullah bin Qais, should I not point you to one of the treasures of Paradise?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” So he told me to say: لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّهِ “La Hawla wa la Quwatta illa Billah”. (There is no power and no might except by Allah.)

Aishah (radhiya Allahu Ta’ala anha), that she said: “O Messenger of Allah! What if I knew which night Lailatul-Qadr was, then what should I say in it?” He said ‘Say اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي Allahumma innaka ‘affuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni’ O Allah You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.’

Hadith [at Tirmidhi]

“IQRA BISMI RABBIKAL LADHI KHALAQ”. Read! In the name of your Lord who created (all that exits).

Surah Al’Alaq 96:1

The Holy Qur’an was revealed in this blessed month of Ramadan, on the Night of Power. The first word revealed to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. was ‘Iqra!’, which is a command, meaning ‘Read!’ or ‘Recite!’.

Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “Is anyone of you incapable of earning one thousand Hasanah (rewards) in a day?” Someone from his gathering asked, “How can anyone of us earn a thousand Hasanah?” He said, “Glorify Allah a hundred times and a thousand Hasanah will be written for you, or a thousand sins will be wiped away.”
